SUBTITLES · 3 MIN READ

No subtitles on IPTV? Check the track before changing players.

A subtitle button is not a guarantee that the current programme includes your language.

Availability comes first

Live channels and on-demand titles can have different audio and subtitle options. Open the player’s subtitle or CC menu while the programme is playing and check which tracks are actually listed. A visible CC icon without selectable tracks does not create captions by itself.

Make three comparisons

  • Try another episode or title in the same language. If captions work there, the first item may simply lack that track.
  • Check the selected subtitle language and caption display preferences in the current player and device. Menu names differ by app version.
  • If the track is listed but invisible, test the same authorised item in another compatible player. Compare results without changing multiple settings together.
  • For an external subtitle file, use only a legitimate source and a file that matches your copy of the content. Respect local rights and the player’s supported formats.

Ask a specific question

Send the title or channel, episode, desired language, player and device, plus a screenshot of the track list with personal details hidden. Ask whether a subtitle track exists for that exact item; do not assume a service-wide language promise covers every programme.
